Create Boldly

For this simple card, I used a variety of pretty papers and a simple layout with a bit of pop from the rhinestones. The layers of diecut edges are soft against the dark, bold colors of this card. I love how these layered pieces look together.

The sentiment is subtle. It says Create.

As you can see on the interior of the card, I've glued in a white panel. This is what I do for cards I create with a dark card base. This allows you write your greeting inside without having to find a white gel pen, or one that would show up inside.

Clean and Simple Lily Card

This is one of absolutely favorite flowers. They're just gorgeous and colorful, coming in all different colors, and delicate. They're stunning. So I love to color this set for various cards. This one can be for any occasion or any celebration! Gotta love cards in your stash like that.

I used the large lily from the Sheena A Little Bit Floral, Lily set and inked it up with Memento in Tuxedo Black and stamped it onto the Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock. After I did that, I colored it and the leaves in with my Spectrum Noir Markers. A tip for anyone - if you're unsure of coloring/palettes to use for things like flowers, just Google the image you want to see examples for and you can then color it true-to-life.

For the strip behind the flower, I used the burlap patterned stamp from the Textures, Basket and Burlap stamp set. I simply stamped it with Memento Luxe in Rich Cocoa on some simple patterned paper. Great way to use your scraps and customize them.

I glued the strip down to a white cardstock base that I cut, scored and folded to 4.25x5.5. I used foam adhesive for the lily and leaves and stamped the sentiment onto the base with Versafine in Onyx Black. I always like to add a fun little touch especially to CAS (clean and simple) cards. I colored some self-adhesive pearls with True Black (Spectrum Noir Marker) and let that dry and then applied them.

There are a lot of various flowery stamp sets over at Crafter's Companion that are so beautiful and fun to color and use for all your projects. Especially with Mother's Day coming up. Happy crafting.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Good morning everyone! Thanks for stopping by to see what I have created for you today. Since it's summer (or supposed to be - Chicagoland area is having cooler than normal temps right now!), I decided to use the Sheena, Kite stamp for my card today. I love it! It really does remind you of a nice summer day!

This card was simple to create. I started off taking a piece of blue patterned paper and used my Die'Sire Circle Doilies dies with it. To me the soft curves of the die and the blue paper reminded me of clouds. Perfect for placing my kite onto! I stamped a few of the kites onto the paper with some grey ink. Very subtle.

I took my Sheena, Kite stamp and inked it up with Memento, Tuxedo Black onto my Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock and colored it in with my Spectrum Noir Markers (PL1, PL3, TB1, TB3, BT3, BT5, LG1, LG3, LG5, GB6) and fussy cut it out.

For the card, I simply cut my cardbase and scored it to 4.25x5.5 and rounded the bottom left corner. I then glued on my doilie die cut. I let it hang off the card and just trimmed off the excess. For some fun, I took the Textures, Basket and Burlap set and inked up the dotted swirl stamp with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass and the other element in the upper left of the card with grey ink. After I stamped those, I used some spray mists and flicked on color in a soft greenish blue and black.

I used foam adhesive on the back of the kite and glued that to the diecut shape. I snuck in the sentiment (it's actually an acetate piece from my stash and I simply backed it with a piece of white cardstock so you could see the wording better) and pulled the one kite string to the front of it.

For some shine, I added several light blue sequins to the card.

I hope you enjoyed this card. Check out Crafter's Companion for so many fun stamp sets, quality markers and more!

Anchored Thanks

Good morning! I wanted to create a simple, but masculine thank you card. I think these are the harder ones to create, for me anyway! But I love the way this came out, so I hope you'll be inspired to create a masculine card. Father's Day is coming up, so this would be a great card with the sentiment swapped out. Or even left as is, since you're in a way, thanking them for being a good father/grandfather/male role model!

I wanted something clean and simple. I chose a simple white cardstock base (folded to 4.25x5.5). I took a piece of brighter yellow cardstock from my stash and went to work. This is a great way to use those scraps you might have lying around.

I took the Textures, Journal Jotting set and had some fun. I stamped the star inside the circle on the paper using Versamark and some clear embossing powder. I heat set that and started with my other stamping. I chose the water rings and stamped those with my Memento Nautical Blue ink, the arrows were stamped with Memento Luxe in Grey Flannel, and the lines were stamped with Distress Ink in Tea Dye. I just had fun layering the stamped images here and there, no rhyme or reason.

For the brown cardstock, I grabbed that from my stash and used the Chevron embossing folder for some texture and cut that out with the Die'Sire Essentials Circle die (the largest one). For the sentiment, I took the paint splotches and stamped them with Radiant Neon in Electric Yellow and Memento Luxe in Grey Flannel (I stamped it off to remove most of the ink since I wanted it more subtle). The sentiment is from the Bebunni Bloom & Grow set and inked with Memento Nautical Blue again. I took a little wooden anchor piece I have on hand and used the Extra Strong Permanent Tape Runner to glue that to the circle. I snuck in a trimmed black and white striped pennant piece (just trimmed by hand) behind the circles. I chose to offset the sentiment circle image on the brown to show off the embossed texture of the chevron.

I glued the yellow piece down on an angle on my card base, trimmed off the ends, and then glued down my circles, pennant piece and chose some fun navy blue enamel dots here and there to give the card even more interest.
