Butterfly Layered Card

Butterflies are just stunning creatures. They're delicate and so full of color with such a soft presence. I could photograph them all day long. So I decided to create a card using the butterfly from The Butterfly Effect by Sheena stamp set for this card along with the sentiment, If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies. How true is that? Such beautiful and true words right there.

I colored in the butterfly using my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (listed below) and then fussy cut out the butterfly. I pulled in papers that coordinated with the butterfly and used foam adhesive and ribbon with twine for some fun texture and interest on the layout. I honestly love how this card came together! All the color is just a breath of fresh air that you can send to someone to brighten up their day. Sometimes a friend may just need a little handmade gem of encouragement if they're going through something in their life, or if they need a bit of a pat on the back for making a change in their life. Nothing is better than support of a friend and loved one. I love having these types of cards on hand for those such occasions. Be a bright spot in someone's day.

Day of the Dead Eternal Love Decorative Hanging Art

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE with all heart anything and everything skull or Day of the Dead related. I'm just in love with the colors, patterns, skull designs and the entire meaning behind the Day of the Dead/Dia de Los Muertos holiday. Such a beautiful way to celebrate life of those loved ones that have passed on. It's something I want to even learn more about and to teach my children about. The artwork just speaks to me.

So, when I saw these new and AMAZING sets that are being realeased TODAY with Day of the Dead images, I fell head over heels for! I mean, it's just ME!!!

I used the Eternal Love set by Sheena Douglass. I'm telling you, her sets blow me away! But I loved the male and female images. I had a lot of fun coloring this image and really giving it life. Sounds funny giving life to skull images, right?! ;)

I made the flowers from some tissue paper I had on hand and found some simple instructions online. I used some skull pewter pieces inside of the smaller flowers. I just cut out the image of the sugar skulls and glued that to black cardstock to make it pop, added some twine to hang it and used glue dots on the back of the flowers. I love how this came out, and I will definitely enjoy using this as a decorative piece this October and November.

I hope you enjoyed my project for this amazing release. You can be sure that I will be making many more projects using these sets from the Day of the Dead line by Sheena in future blog posts. Check out all the sets in this release on the website for Crafter's Companion.

Have A Wonderful Day!

I love the title alone of this blog post - Have A Wonderful Day! It is just such a positive outlook on life really. Something simple like sending someone a card that is just to wish them a wonderful day can really set the tone for someone. All it takes is a simple kind gesture to make someone smile and be happy :)

I used the Wonderful Day stamp set by Sheena Douglass. Her designs are amazing and so much fun to bring to life by coloring them in. One of my favorite parts of creating any of these projects you see on my blog is being able to color. Ever since I was a little girl, I've LOVED to color. And it's truly relaxing to me to sit down and color in an image and bring it to life.

I kept with a more fall-ish color tone for this since our main focal image is a scarecrow after all! I kept the layout simple since the sentiment for this set is quite large. It really screams at you to have a wonderful day, don't you think?

I've listed all the products below with links to purchase from Crafter's Companion. Also be sure to check out around the website for more inspiring projects and an amazing array of items to craft with for all occasions. Enjoy your day!
