SP Color Combo 133 / Pinspired Challenge #2

I'm on a roll! I'm back again with a card for the SP Color Combo 133 challenge which the details can be found here. And here's the color combo:

This card is also being entered in the new Pinspired challenge on their blog and here's the inspiration photo:

For the mittens, I used a DeNami stamp I had gotten at the Chicago CHA last year. I stamped it in black on aqua paper and cut them out and went to stamping with all SP Stamps with a fun pattern of hearts on the mitten with the small heart from the Tiny Build A Banner set and the round circle is from that set as well. The border on the mittens is the Circletastic background stamp with the small heart again used in the centers in black. Then I stamped the outline stamp from Artsy Heartsy on patterned paper and cut it out and used pop dots to add dimension, added some red and white bakers twine and pop dots to stick them to the base of the card, which is where my black came in. The sentiment was stamped in white.

I added the matching patterned paper strip to the bottom and that's it!

Thanks for visiting! Please leave me comments. I love to read what you thought of my take on these two challenges! Be sure to visit SP and Company as well as the Pinspired blog to play along.

The Alley Way Stamps-Be Inspired #20

It's Sunday people. I've been busy! Here is a challenge I had been wanting to enter...The Alley Way Stamps challenge! You can view the details here for the challenge itself.

Here's the inspiration picture. Ok, those look super tasty...

And here is my card! I just love the little apples face!!!! I don't know how many of you have boys that watch Adventure Time, but it totally reminded me of a character out of that show. If you haven't seen it, check it out. Seriously. Hilarious. The set I used was It's Fall About You. I just covered up where the seeds in the apple were when I stamped it, then I stamped the eyes and mouth from the set on top! Colored in with my Spectrum Noirs and fussy cut him. Layered on a diecut doily looking shape and there you go! The patterned paper is the new Dear Lizzy line.

And a close up...

Hexagon Love!

Hey there! I'm kicking off the weekend with a card I created for the SP Trends Challenge: HEXAGONS. Hexagons are an awesome trend and I'm happy to play along.

Since it's veryyyy cold here and now snowy, I wanted a bright card to bring some color to my world. I used a golden colored cardstock for behind the vase and used a hexagon embossing folder to create the subtle background. The image I used for the stamp (flower and vase) is from the For Every Woman Stamp Set from SP & Company. So many uses for these images! I colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers.

I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies, Hexagon (S4-368). for the two hexagons. I stamped the center of the smaller one with the dots from the SP & Company set, Large Polka Dots Background Stamp. I then stamped the "Thankful for You" over the dots which is a sentiment from the Vintage October: Falling for Autumn Stamp Set. The paper were scraps, so I'm not sure of whose line they came from! I'm a frugal girl...

Just make sure you look at ALL your stamp sets for sentiments that could be used anywhere!! I hardly ever use just one set for my cards or projects. :)

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card! Hope it brought a little warmth to January!

Life Brings Simple Pleasures

TGIF! I've got a new card I've created with the new sets just released from Crafter's Companion. I seriously love all their sets and how they can be used together. As a stamper, that's a huge deal!

Today's card I made features a vase and flower image from SET 71. I Cut out the vase after using my inks with sponges to color it with a soft yellowish brown and cut a slit in the actual vases center. I then took my flowers and cut out around them after coloring them in with my watercolor pencils and stuck them in the vase. Makes it look like they're coming right out of the vase! If you click the photo, you might be able to see I added some Stickles to the purple on the flowers.

The sentiment is from SET 60 which is just on simple white cardstock in black ink. I rounded the one corner and used a notebook punch I had to give it some interest. I then proceeded to sponge on various colors from different ink pads I had. I think it gives it a warm antiqued looking feel! Perfectly matched the the vase.

I used foam pop up adhesive on the backs of everything to give it dimension and adhered it to a darker purple blue cardstock to really accent the images. Finished it off with a tan colored bow and then glued the whole thing to another cream colored base and then put that whole thing on the card itself. Gives a lot od dimension!

This was another fairly quick card to put together, but so many layers yet it's simple!

Damask Friend Card

Hey there! I've got a really simple and fun card using an easy color palette-red, black and white. I seriously love the simplicity of this card and the pop of red.

I used the damask strip and block from the new set (Stamp It Australia EZMount Stamp Set-SET-07) from Crafter's Companion. The set is seriously so pretty. The sentiment is from another new set (Stamp It Australia EZMount Stamp Set-SET 60). It's filled with great sentiments perfect for your cards or scrapbook pages.

I hope you love the look of the card. And it really didn't take much time at all. See how fun it is to make your own cards? Crafter's Companion products truly make it easy to create these great cards in no time.

Meet Humphrey!

Good morning! Here is my first project for Crafter's Companion that I'm bringing you. I have to say, I adore this little guy so much. Meet Humphrey...

Humphrey is from the Humphrey, EZMount Stamp Set, Roses Are Red set and the sentiment, From me to You is from the Humphrey, EZMount Stamp Set, From Me to You.

I used watercolor pencils to color him in which is a GREAT technique to be able to add dimension to an image especially clothing like jeans! I had a lot of fun sitting and coloring him, adding that one rosey cheek and some simple shading to his ear and fold under his arm. For the sentiment, I just cut out around it and sponged on some ink to make it match the background paper more. Very fun but simple card go give someone special!

Here's a closeup of the coloring on Humphrey!
