Happy Shower Card

I have a baby shower coming up this month and I wanted to create a fun and whimsical card for my friend and their joyous celebration. I decided a giraffe would be adorable for this occasion. Complete with a pink hair bow of course. I don't have girls, so when I can, I create fun and girly things!

I used a fun floral paper for the background on top of a pink card base. I grabbed a fun Polaroid-inspired die to use to showcase my little giraffe. I popped up the giraffe with some foam adhesive to give some dimension.

This time, I colored with my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils. They are creamy and so great to color with. If you used the blending solution and paper blending stumps, you can achieve such great dimension!

Thanks for stopping by. Please be sure to visit the Spectrum Noir blog for more inspiration from the other talented design team members!

Best Wishes Naturalist Card

Today I have a card I designed with a very simple and natural feel to it. I love the Sheena Home Life Perfect Partners products a lot. They're so versatile!

Isn't that such a simple, yet pretty palette? I love the hint of color the greens give this earthtone card. And this is a card that can be used for anything - a new job, engagement, retirement.

Colorista Thank You Card

Morning, everyone. Hope everyone's day has started off nicely. Today I have a very simple card with a lot of punch by simply coloring a bold image. A tip here is to color your images ahead of time and keep them on hand so that you can whip up a card or gift tag in no time at all. I usually color these when I'm at my oldest's Boy Scout meetings. While he's doing his thing, I sit at the table and color. I usually have a lot of the moms there ask what I'm doing and I'm happy to share what products I'm using. I hope to inspire others to sit down, color, and create something with them.

Visit the Crafter's Companion site and blog for more inspiration and to look around to shop

Now on to my project for this challenge!

I decided to start making some of my holiday cards that I give to loved ones, friends, my kids teachers and this year, my Cub Scout den families. I love using my handmade cards for this reason, so I try to craft throughout the year so I have a nice variety by the time it's ready to send them or hand them out.

Isn't that deer just too cute?! I kept the layout, you guessed it, clean and simple! There's something satisfying about white space to me. It's the designer that still lives inside my brain. I can't help it.

I had cut out the hat and used some foam adhesive to give it dimension and make it pop up off his head.

I hope you're inspired and enjoy this CAS challenge as much as I have! It's my absolute favorite challenge we have done. Get crafting and enter over at the Lawnscaping Challenge blog!

Best Wishes

Good morning! I've got a really bright and adorable card today perfect for a little lady's special day. I just love the kitten. I colored it to look like our cat, Ashley.

Ah! I mean, how cute is that cat?! I know she's saying, just let me at that balloon. Just for a minute.

This is one of those stamp sets that's super fun to color and your imagination can really go wild. I wanted to do something different with giving them a shadow/background, so I used this dot technique I've seen others do and I'm a big fan now!!

Lawnscaping Challenge 136 Sponsored by Ellen Hutson

It's Monday and you know what that means...a NEW Lawnscaping Challenge is here! This theme is Punny Time. You can use a punny sentiment or create your own for this challenge. Have fun with it! Cheesy is punny! See what I did there?! ;)

Our amazing sponsor is Ellen Hutson LLC. Check out her site for all the amazing Lawn Fawn products and so much more. It's a one stop hide-your-checkbook-from-you-know-who shop.

On to my design for this challenge. I really had fun with it and it's totally punny, but simple, too! I wanted the simple look and it to really be focused on the sentiment and simple imagery. I think I TOADALLY nailed it.

Are you laughing?! I hope so. I did. Ha ha ha ha.

A little side shot so you can toadally see the dimension and fun inking I did.
I could have definitely gone with WARTS UP?! Hmm. Another card might get made with that one!

Enjoy this fun challenge and be sure to enter your PUNNY card over at the Lawnscaping Blog!!

Christmas in July 2016

I couldn't let July go by without one Christmas card! After all, Christmas in July is a thing in some places. And why not?! When it's hot out, any thought to help cool off here is great :)

I made the sentiment the main focus, but I added in the holly leaves around the edges to dress it up and draw attention inward. I added some fun sequins in coordinating colors for sparkle, too.

Reel Friend

Happy summer! I hope you're all having an amazing summer. I've been insanely busy with the boys, and every weekend we have a full agenda each day. I'll miss it once the kids are back in school though. We only get 10 weeks of summer break and I vowed to make this summer as much fun as I could!! Sadly I've been behind on my crafting, but I worked super hard to catch up. I want to soak up the kids youth as much as I can.

Back to my project today! I made this adorable little card to send to a friend as just a thanks for being there for me greeting. Everyone deserves a handmade card in the mail every now and then.

I do enjoy fishing, too, so this is perfect coming from me. I enjoyed coloring this scene. Too funny.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! Products are listed and linked below. Be sure to visit Crafter's Companion for all these great goodies. Happy crafting.

Lawnscaping Challenge 134 Sponsored by Lawn Fawn

We are sponsored by the always amazing Lawn Fawn! Those folks just rock and they are sponsoring this challenge with a free stamp set of the winner's choice! So many stamp to choose from, I know. It's tough. We just heart them! Thank you Kelly Marie and gang for sponsoring us!

RAINBOW! This was a fun challenge. I don't normally use this many colors on one project, but I went with it and had fun creating it.

You can't tell me you didn't smile upon seeing that!! My kids laughed at all the little faces on the gumballs. Love it.

I did add some gloss to the top of the gumball machine but it's a little hard to see and it didn't smooth out as well as I had hoped. I need a new bottle because I had to use a paintbrush with it, so you can kind of see the marks from the brush. But I still think it's cute!

Hop on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to see the rest of the design team's crafty concoctions for this challenge. And enter your project! Have fun with it. There are a rainbow of possibilities for this challenge. I couldn't help myself...

  • Memento Ink, Tuxedo Black
  • Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers
  • Versafine Ink, Onyx Black

Seashell Bookmark

Today I have a non-card project. I know, you're just as shocked as I am!!! I've begun my quest to read more this summer and I need some new bookmarks. So I created one for myself!

A one layer bookmark full of colorful seashells definitely screams summer to me. I also love the sentiment. It says:

"To discover a seashell is to discover a world of imagination." - Michelle Held

Kind of fitting for a bookmark, don't you think? Books are full of discovering many things and fictional books are definitely like discovering a world of imagination. We are avid library goers. I'll be having the kids make some bookmarks for themselves one summer day. I'll share that with you all!

Check out Crafter's Companion for all the amazing products you could use to create a bookmark or a series of bookmarks as a gift to give alongside a gift card to a book store (Half Price Books is a fav of mine), or with a book!

Union of Souls

I have another collection of stamps that are must haves in my book. I adore anything and everything Day of the Dead related, and this new line from Sheena is right up my alley!!!! Here's a card I have created for my anniversary coming up next month. My hubby knows how much I adore this type of art, so he will appreciate it and the sentiment is perfect for a wedding or anniversary. We will be celebrating 14 years of marriage this year.

I did a single stamping layout for this card because I wanted the simplicity for the images to be showcased. I did stamp the small flower, color and fussy cut that out and adhered to the top hat with some foam adhesive to give a bit of dimension.

To make the sentiment pop, I colored over it with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in Moonlight to give it a glow and shimmer when turned on an angle. Just subtle enough.

I hope you enjoyed my card and check out the rest of the amazing Sheena Douglass Day of the Dead collection over at Crafter's Companion! Happy crafting.
