Thinking of You Makes Me :)

Welcome and Happy Friday! I've got a really pretty spring feeling card that I made with the Sheena A Little Bit Sketchy that Crafter's Companion has. Let me say, it's a super fun set!!!!

I colored the flowers in with my Spectrum Noirs and cut around them leaving a slight white border. I also colored the leaves with the Spectrum Noirs as well and really, it's so easy to add beautiful shading to make them look realistic. I just love these markers.

I pulled some paper I had in my stash for the yellow (to match the yellow in the flower's center) and then the springy green floral print paper. I didn't have a huge piece of that, so to add some texture, I cut the paper into strips and glued them, slightly overlapping, to the yellow stock.

I cut out the leaves with a Nestabilities die I have and lightly inked the edges with distress ink. Adds a little warmth and dimension.

The sentiment is from the new release, Crisalis. I love the classic fonts used in this series. Just beautiful. I cut that out with a round punch and glued to a piece of olive green corrugated paper I had in my stash. It's the beauty of working at a printing company and getting the discontinued paper swatch books!! LOVE.

I snuck that under the popped up image. The kraft bird is from a package of pieces I bought at Micheal's in their cheapy bins. I just used some distress ink and spray mists to give it a little life.
I hope you are inspired and be sure to check out all the products I mentioned on Crafter's Companion website HERE!

With Sympathy-Magnolias

I'm back again with another colorful card. I believe sympathy cards should be soft and warm to look at, which I think I've achieved. I used the magnolia blossom from the Sheena A Little Bit Floral-Magnolia Blossom release from Crafter's Companion.  I colored it in and blended away with my Spectrum Noirs of course. The "with sympathy" sentiment is from the Sheena A Little Bit Floral-Floral Corners.

Here is the whole card which I just used pop dots to add dimension over the patterned paper which I had in my stash. I thought it was a perfect fit for this sympathy card. And the paper diecut behind the sentiment was another stash item of mine; white flocked paper. Very subtle for texture, but elegant.

Hope you enjoyed my card and will check out Crafter's Companion for all these wonderful products!!

Valentine Trash to Treasure Project

Happy Valentine's Day! Hoping everyone is having a great night so far. I enjoyed seeing the little Valentine's my oldest brought home from school. I've got an adorable container that I made for him to keep them in.

I took an ordinary oatmeal container, ripped off the label and wiped out the inside (since it's just cardboard) and went to town.

I just measured cardstock and glued it to the outside, and since it wasn't quite large enough, I used a strip of alternate paper to cover that up in the front which adds interest to the fab pocket.

For the pocket, I used the SP and Company pocket stamp from Vintage October: All Zipped Up. I used denim paper I found on clearance at Micheal's. I should have bought a LOT more of this... :) Stuck on a puffy heart after adhering to the container and how cute is that?!

I made a little "card" to stick in the pocket and cut out the XO letters with letter dies using my amazing Cuttlebug. There's a whole joke with that one...anyway! And I used pop dots on that for some dimension.

Then I used a circle die that fit the container's top and cut out a circle out of cardstock, glued on and stuck one more X and O on it and it's done!

TRASH TO TREASURE for my little Valentine's Valentines. I hope I inspired you to not toss packaging and use it for something really fun and simple to create with supplies you have on hand.

SP Trends Challenge #3

Happy Sunday! I've got a fun project for you today that I'm going to enter into the SP and Company's Trend Challenge. Go check out the details here and enter yourself!

I found these adorable kraft boxes on Pick Your Plum through one of their daily deals. They're seriously awesome. So I took out my Artsy Heartsy set and stamped away. I love how clean and crisp these stamp. And red and white on kraft, hello! The sentiments are perfect for a 2nd grader to give to his friends, boy or girl. Here are a few images.

Here are all the treat boxes!
The actual Valentine's are the hearts donning mustaches of course! This kit was bought at Paper Source. My son and I LOOOOOVE mustaches, so we had to get them for him to make this year. He did them all himself! I forgot to take a photo of the back, but they're circle labels that say TO: which I put MY FRIEND (using the letters from the Tiny Build A Banner set in red) and he wrote his name after the FROM: line.

Hope you liked my project! Thanks for stopping by!

Sheena Floral Release

Good morning friends! I'm happy to have you take a look at a card I just made for the newest Sheena release by Crafter's Companion, which is available for purchase TODAY!! Head over and snag these sets today. They're gorgeous...

These images are amazing to color in and I certainly had fun doing that with my Spectrum Noirs. I tell ya, I love these markers. I looked online for correct coloring for the lily since I wanted it to be as realistic as possible. Thank goodness for Google! :)

This was a card that I made with a heavy heart for my husband's aunt whose sister just passed away from stomach cancer. It was a long and painful journey for her, but it's comforting to know she's not in pain any longer.

I think this has a warm, but cheerful feel with the heart. Very soothing.

I hope you enjoyed the card and be sure to check out the full release at the Crafter's Companion Store!

For the sentiment, I just cut it apart to add some interest and placed in on top of the bow. A little different look :)
